Energy-Boosting Banana Oatmeal

This classic, nutritious smoothie has all of the nutritional benefits of milk and bananas.  Chock full of full of Vitamin C, B6 and potassium, bananas are a healthy and easy way to start your mornings off on the right tract.  They are great at sustaining energy levels.  Revitalize your mind and body with a sip of this delicious smoothie.

I have been enjoying this smoothie with some of my most trusted lactation boosting ingredients:  oats, flaxseed, and Brewer’s yeast.  Next to the added benefit of these galactagogues, I love that I can make these smoothies ahead of time.  I simply whip them up and place them in the fridge overnight.  The next morning I am able to grab one and head straight out the door without any compromise to my nutrition.

Overnight Booby Smoothies: Energy-Boosting Banana Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup raw milk
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp chia seeds
  • 2 bananas
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseed oil
  • 1 Tbsp Brewer's yeast
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a half-pint jar. Tightly screw lid onto jar, and shake. Refrigerate overnight, or up to 3 days. Enjoy!
